From 9/11 commission testimony. 5/23/2003

Mineta responds to an opening question by Commissioner
Hamilton about the events in the PEOC and an alleged
shoot down order. He describes a conversation between
Cheney and a young man:
Mineta: "During the time that the airplane
was coming into the Pentagon, there was a young
man who would come in and say to the Vice President
the
plane is 50 miles out
the plane is 30 miles
out
.and when it got down to the plane is 10
miles out, the young man also said to the vice president
"do the orders still stand?" And the Vice
President turned and whipped his neck around and
said "Of course the orders still stand, have
you heard anything to the contrary!??"
My comments:
How did Cheney and others know the destination of
a hijacked plane? They seem to know where the plane
is going, otherwise they would not know how far
it is away from the target. The only people that
should have known the destination would be the hijackers.
They say "the plane is 50 miles out "
out from where, going to where? They were apparently
looking at radar. There were orders that still stood.
The end result of the orders were that a plane hit
the Pentagon, and killed some people there.
Do the
orders still stand? Have you heard anything to the
contrary? Mineta could not recall whom the gentleman
was that was talking to Cheney, and the 9/11 Commission
never bothered to interview him, or even identify
him for the record. They accepted the response "I
don't recall who it was" when Mineta was asked.
I would have asked Mineta if the man was military
or civilian, and would have got his name and interviewed
him for the record.
My Comment:
Here is another one that gets me, this is from the
same 9/11 Commission session, and right after the
testimony of Mineta, Major General Craig McKinley
was interviewed by commissioner Kean.
Kean: I would like to have Major General Craig McKinley,
commander, 1st Air Force, Continental U.S. NORAD,
here representing NORAD.
Major General Craig McKinley: The distance of those
fighters which had been scrambled out of Otis, at
that particular point they were still 71 miles away,
about eight minutes out, and going very fast.
My Comment:
71 miles in 8 minutes is 8.87 miles per minute,
that is 532 miles per hour, from a F16 with top
speed of 1575 miles per hour (top speed can't be
attained at low altitude with armament). Going very
fast? I suppose fast is relative, 532 mph is fast
for turtle, but slow for a F16. The F16 is going
about as fast as the cruising speed of a 757, which
is 500 mph, top speed for a 757 is 600 mph. Flight
77 was a known "Air Emergency" at 8:50
when radio contact was lost, while 77 was over northeastern
Kentucky. Some FAA testimony indicates that 77 disappeared
from radar sometime shortly before 8:50, and then
reappeared. To do this 77 would have to have flown
below radar, or landed, unless some sort of stealth
technology was employed, that is and was unknown
to the public.
8:55 - 77 goes off course 180 degrees.
8:56 - 77s transponder goes off.
9:41 - 77 hits the Pentagon. 45 minutes after a
know "Air Emergency"
The intercept of Payne Stewart's stricken Lear stands
as an example of how fast NORAD has responded to
an "Air Emergency":
The Dallas Morning News reports: According to an
Air Force timeline, a series of military planes
provided an emergency escort to the stricken Lear,
beginning with a pair of F-16 Falcons from the Air
National Guard at Tyndall Air Force Base, Fla.,
about 20 minutes after ground controllers lost contact.

According to my calculations Flight 77 should have
been intercepted in about 15 minutes since 77 would
be flying at the F16s rather than away from them
(making closing speed around 1500 mph if the F16s
flew at 1000 mph, just 2/3s of top speed). At about
9:15, nearly 30 minutes before hitting the Pentagon,
flight 77 should have been intercepted by 2 F16s
out of Langely AFB.
According
the FAA manual chapter on "Air Emergencies"
losing radio contact, off course, or transponder
off, require NORAD to be notified, and orders for
Scramble, Intercept, and Escort of the
Aircraft in question are to be given by NORAD. According
to NORAD: 9:30 - 2 F16s take off from Langley AFB
after having sat on the ground with pilots on board
since 9:09 when they were put on alert. Remarkable
they took off just in time to NOT be able to catch
up to 77 before it hit the Pentagon. They were in
hot pursuit though, like a scalded ape, at about
500 mph, about the same speed as the plane they
were trying to intercept.
These
are just 2 examples of 9/11 testimony that is at
the very least disturbing. There are many more problems
with the 9/11 Commission testimony that indicates
cover-up. Conclusion, 9/11 was done by people at
the highest echelons of the US government.
We need an investigation.
